It seems like this little girl has lived so many different lives. There were the first three and a half years where she went to school every day, and then there were those four months when she was just home with me and a new baby sister, and then there were those two years where she went to Pre-K two days a week, and then there was Kinder. Through it all, this child has loved school. This was the very first time that she hasn't cried on the first day of school though. Despite her love for learning, she has always been sad for me to leave but not today. Today, she told me that she was fine, and I could go. :)
As wonderful as it is to see her be so happy, it's never easy letting her go though.
Yesterday afternoon, we had Sneak-a-Peak at Avaree's school! We are praying for these two precious teachers, Ms. Ortega (left) and Ms. Bianco (right). They are both bilingual, but Ms. Ortega will only speak Spanish in front of the students!
Her sweet friend Chloe came in the room while we were there! Chloe and Reese have the same two teachers, but they are in the other homeroom.
Avaree's 1st grade school supplies on her desk! I would also like to point out that her Daddy spent several hours on Saturday doing many things to help get her school ready to open today, but one thing that I love is that he lowered every single desk in this room, and he prayed over each of them.
Twas the night before 1st grade, and this sweet baby was sleeping with a book under her body! She hides them everywhere, so that she always has one. :)
…and she woke up a FIRST GRADER!
I was in the kitchen finishing her lunch and making coffee, and she bounded into the living room telling me if twas the first day of school! :) She managed to stay quiet through her squeals, and we had a few minutes together before the babies woke!
I love this sweet, adorable dress that i found for 6.97 at Walmart! :) She makes it look so beautiful!

Then, I took Avaree to school by myself. We talked the whole way there, and she walked in proudly and confidently. She put her backpack up in her locker, and she found her seat!

I peeked back in the room to ask one more question, and she was diligently coloring away. :) She and Travis actually looked up and saw me and started laughing! ;)
I didn't cry until I got to the car. I cried again when I got home, and then Felicity cried off an on for THREE hours! This girl really misses her sister!!!!!! She will have to learn how to play with Brandt again. Meanwhile, we can't wait to go pick sister up this afternoon!
Avaree, I am so proud of you--more proud than I could ever say. Your confidence, empathy, intelligence, wisdom, wit and humor all make you so unique and special. I love that you love others, and I love that you are strong and kind. May you continue to shine your little light in your amazing school, and may you always be the one that stands with those that are alone, takes up for the one that's being made fun of, and helps the teacher. This morning, I couldn't help but think of how quickly these years have gone. You are growing up right before my eyes. I'm so thankful to be your Mommy. I love you, and it is my honor to be a small part of launching you into the world and watching God make you into the amazing young lady that He has created you to be.
