Week 8: An Unexpected Trip

Little Sister is so beautiful. It's hard to believe she is almost two.   It was a gorgeous day, and she loves her bubbles! :)

After we came inside from playing, I received a phone call from a dear friend about the funeral service for her baby boy. Although I knew travel at this point would be difficult, I felt like I really needed to go to the funeral and be there for my friend. She was 22 weeks pregnant when her baby boy's heart stopped beating. I can't even put into words how difficult it was to see that tiny casket and listen to my friend's heart breaking words. Praise God that she and her husband are believers, and that they have hope amid the storm. It was super emotional, and my eyes were swollen the whole next day too. I just can't imagine what my friend is going through. She had to bury her first baby as well. 
Meanwhile, the girls had no idea why we were really here, and they enjoyed time in the country. Avaree asked me several times while we were there why we couldn't live in the country! ;) I love that she loves where I grew up. Good thing she loves Target and city life too! ;)
Avaree and Felicity had many tea parties while we were home! They stayed home with Maw Maw and Pop Pop while I went to the funeral, and I when I got back, they were painting on the walls (with permission, of course)! So much fun here!

Brandt got to meet (and get lots of love and snuggles from) his Great Maw Maw!

Brandt also decided that he loved being held, and that he could take daytime naps if he could be held! ;)

Felicity kept bringing books for Maw Maw to read to her!

Uncle Shea was there for Spring Break, so we got a lot of quality time with him! ;)

Bryer came over, and he and Avaree had a big time on a rainy day!

Meanwhile, Brother kept snoozing… ;)

He smiled at everyone!

I facetimed Daddy with my swollen eyes! Look closely, and you can see him!  I'm so thankful that he was willing to take us halfway and that my mom was willing to give him her car and ride the rest of the way with us!

The next day was beautiful, and Avaree went fishing with Pop Pop! Felicity wanted to go too!

Uncle Shea and Avaree had a big time on the boat!

Meanwhile, Brandt smiled for everyone at home!

He turned two months old while we were there!

…and he played it up for his audience! We may have another little Brandon in more ways than one! ;)

Felicity got to go for a boat ride!

The next morning, Papa and Niecey came over to visit!

Niecey got some Brandt-lovin!

…and the big girls took turns swinging with Papa!

The lake was so high, and Felicity was fascinated by it!

Brandt just loved being outside!!!

On Friday afternoon, Daddy came to get us, and he built the girls a fire to roast marshmallows!!!

The girls went for a walk with Mom Mom and Pop Pop, and Felicity wanted to do it herself! ;)

On Saturday morning, we got up and headed back home in the rain! It was a long trip, but everyone did pretty well! Daddy never minds stopping, so that helps! On Sunday after church, we went to Fuzzy's!

We don't go out to eat much anymore, and the girls just love it when we do! They were being so sweet!  ;)

Brandt's two-month is up next!

Spring Break, Part Two!

We got to Papa and Niecey's by 8:30 in the morning, and Avaree immediately began her day! ;) She and Papa rode all over the place in the tractor! 

 It was a beautiful day, and Avaree loved driving the tractor!

 Felicity was getting teething, tired, and didn't want anyone but Mommy! She warmed up after her nap though!

Papa and Avaree went to Tractor Supply and got her some shiny pink rain boots, so that she could work at the farm with Papa! She thought she was the coolest thing ever! :) Then, she practiced her duck calls! Hilarious! 

 Late that afternoon, we went for a boat ride! It was such a beautiful day!

 We stopped inside a beautiful cove and just enjoyed the afternoon for a bit!

 Felicity did not want to go inside!

 …until she found Speckles!

 Sister literally wanted to ride the tractor ALL DAY! She cried when it was time to go inside and take a bath!

 She wanted sissy to "drive with her."

 Then, Felicity thought she should get up there by herself! ha! Who would have thought my city girls would love a tractor so much? ;)

 Avaree is in a little stage where she wants to "hold" Felicity a lot! I love it, but it requires a bit of help! ;)

 Of course, the tractor was parked for all of these pictures! 

Felicity got to have her very first sink bath that night! :) She soon had her second sink bath a couple of weeks later at Gigi's house (pictures soon).

We enjoyed our time at Papa and Niecey's house! We left early the next morning, and then Daddy came home late the next day! We were so happy to see him! We enjoyed a very lazy couple of days together! 
That Saturday was Mommy and Daddy's 6th wedding anniversary, so we watched our wedding video with both of our girls! :) It was so fun!

I can't believe it is already April! Much more to come! And we have a birthday girl on Friday!
