Felcity has grown up SO much in the last month! She has gone from my tiny little stationary baby that just wants to be near her Mama to an opinionated, people-food eating, anti-sleeping, must-have-mama, crawling little love muffin, and I adore her so!!!! :)
Eating: Felicity will NOT eat baby food. Furthermore, she will not eat anything pureed--including apple sauce. Who doesn't like apple sauce? This girl. However, she LOVES people food! Her favorites are turkey, avocado, bananas, peaches, pears, yogurt melts, oatmeal, and puffs! She eats oatmeal every morning, but every other meal is full of people food! She doesn't really "snack" right now, as she only eats at meal time, but I am going to institute a morning and afternoon snack this month as I begin to drop her mid-morning and evening feeding. She is still breastfeeding. Mama is so thankful to be able to continue that for now. For now, we still don't have any teeth (or even any buds popping up), but she is all about the oral stage and puts EVERYTHING in her mouth, so I'm sure it's coming soon. Avaree got her first tooth at ten months, so we may be getting close!
Playing: Felicity is CRAWLING! She LOVES, LOVES to play! She can crawl anywhere now, and it has been amazing to watch her world change right before my eyes! She loves, loves to play with her toys, and her favorite is Noah's Ark and all the animals. This is even more of a hit with Avaree now than it was when she was Felicity's age, ha! :) Licy still loves to roll around, but she wants her mama to be on the floor with her. She is not a huge fan of playing while I'm working around the house, so we have to do small increments, and I wear in the baby bjorn a lot too! Her favorite things to do are play peek-a-boo, pat-a-cake, tickle, "talk to us", sing songs, follow her sister around, and get her hands on anything that makes noise! :) She has also just begun to pull up on things! She's just growing so fast!!!
Size: Felicity is still wearing a size three diaper and 6-9 month and 9 month clothes! At the doctor this week she weighed 18 lbs (with clothes and diaper still on)! She's growing fast!
Disposition: Felicity is a super happy baby, and we can immediately tell when she's tired or doesn't feel good as she changes COMPLETELY! She has started asserting her little opinions though. If you try to put her on the floor, and she does not want to go on the floor, she will stiffen her legs up and scream. Also, if you take a toy away from her (or something that she thinks is a toy like plastic or paper, ha), then she will scream at you! We have already had to start changing our inflections and saying no no! I feel like it is super early for this, but this girl needs it! :) She is strong-willed, but at the same time, she is so sweet and loving. She reaches for us, and that will pretty much make your life! She gives hugs and kisses freely, and she still has the power to make you feel like a million bucks when she smiles! :) Her favorite people are Avaree, Mommy and Daddy--in that order! :) Oh how she loves her mama! :) If she could crawl back into my womb (and then come out whenever she felt like it, she probably would. :) She loves to be on my hip, and she fits perfectly! :)
Sleeping: Felicity is currently on a sleeping strike! ha :) Not really, but it feels like that. She is on her third (double) ear infection in a month and a half, and she cannot sleep. Her once beautiful naps have turned into thirty minute cat naps, and her once perfect night time sleeps have become something akin to a one week old! Again, it helps me to know that this won't last forever, but it is hard when you are already up late and don't get naps the next day. I also know that she is exhausted, so that makes it hard too. We'll get back there though. :) I remember that every big milestone comes with a change in sleep habits, so hopefully we will even out again soon. She didn't sleep through the night at all this month though! That's a goal for next month! She still takes two naps a day--9:30 and 2:30 (or an hour up or down either way, depending on when she wakes up)!
Sisters: Can you tell that they love each other? They make my heart so very happy. Avaree LOVES to take care of Felicity, and Felicity adores Avaree so so much! Avaree can make her belly laugh like no one else can, and Avaree gets the biggest kick out of Felicity laughing. It is so fun to be around them all day!
Coming Up: This next month I am looking forward to CHRISTMAS! For the first time since we became a family, our little family of four is going to be at home by ourselves for Christmas morning! We are going to PLAY and CUDDLE and NOT TRAVEL! :) I can't wait to see Avaree and Felicity in their matching Christmas pajamas that I have them for Christmas Eve! I can't wait to see their faces light up! I can't wait for every single thing! I can't wait to be finished with Daddy's school on Friday! I can't wait to read the Christmas story on Christmas Eve! I can't for Felicity to see what we got her! I can't wait for some family time in late December! I can't wait to make a GF cake for Jesus' birthday! I can't wait for Felicity to start sleeping again! I can't wait for them to get wear more of their Christmas outfits! I am sooooooo excited about the future!!!!!! God is so good, and every day is a blessing! I just can't wait for every day with my sweet baby girls! :) EEEEEK--I'm so so excited about everything!!!!!
I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT MY BABY WILL BE ONE IN FOUR MONTHS!
Where has the time gone?
I remember the first time I held her. It was only for a minute and her breaths were ragged and heavy, but she was on my chest, and everything was going to be okay. Then, they took her, and the next time I saw her she had so many tubes. Later, they gave us the worst case scenarios, and I felt the weight of the world on my heart. I watched her struggle to breath. I watched her squished little face as she wildly thrashed around from hunger. I prayed endlessly for her strength and healing. A mere eight days later, we walked out of the hospital with our precious, healthy baby girl.
Praise Him! Praise Him! He heard our prayers, and he healed our child.
She is certainly our little miracle!
