Brandt Grows Up: 3 Months

Somehow our little buddy is already three months old! His official "monthly birthday" was on April 19th, but Mommy has been a little busy with sick babies and a new part-time job. Time has flown by! 

Sleeping: Brandt was sleeping like a champ for about two weeks! He would sleep from 8:30 pm to around 4:30 am, and one time he even made it to 5 am, but that stopped abruptly, and now he's back to waking up 2-3 times per night. He starts crying to eat and go to bed around 7:45 every night. It's like he has an internal clock or something! ;) That is right when we are getting the girls to bed and saying prayers, so he often has cry a bit and wait his turn. :) When Brandon's home, it's much faster, but Brandt hasn't quite mastered patience yet! His normal for the last couple of weeks is to sleep from 8:30pm to around 1:30 am, and then he's up every 2-3 hours after that. It may just be another growth spurt! I don't go to sleep when he does, so it makes my nights seem really short, ha! He does love to take naps during the day, but unfortunately he only likes to sleep in his bed at night! :) If I hold him for a good thirty minutes in the rocking chair and then put him down, he may sleep a little while in his bed.   Sometimes, I hold him the whole time Felicity is asleep--especially on days when Avaree is at school. The advantage of number three is that I know even more that this won't last long. He takes the best naps on his Daddy's chest on the weekends! ;) 

Sizes: Well, he weighs 17.5 lbs. (No wonder my back is inflamed.) He is wearing 3-6 month and 6 month clothes, and we just moved him to size three diapers. These statistics have led to several new nicknames from his Daddy: Tug, Tub, and Monster. :) Of course, big sister Avaree has also picked up on these and loves to call him her little monster. I, however, refuse to call him such things. He's still my sweet little guy. :) 

Eating: Brandt loves to eat. He is 17 lbs, after all. :) He eats every 2.5 to 3 hours. He almost always goes the full 3 hours now, but sometimes he needs to eat a little early. He is still on 100% breast milk. He's my biggest baby, yet he is the first one that I haven't had to both feed and supplement with additional breast milk from the freezer. I love that God made our bodies to grow additional milk ducts with each of our babies. 

Playing: Brandt has started reaching for toys! He has two little toys that he loves. One is a lion that squeaks, and one is a little car that makes noise. He loves to hold them and look at both of them. He loves his hands the most. :) He can play with them any time he wants! He has also started playing on his play mat and even sitting up in the bumbo sometimes. :) By far, his very favorite activity his talking and being talked to. :) He just lights up, and it will melt you to the core. It's so fun to watch him discover his world. 

Development: Little brother went for a check up after his initial PT evaluation a couple of weeks ago, and he did SO good. Our sweet PT, Carrie, said that his torticollis is SO much better that he may only need to come back one more time! We're so proud of him! :) His range of motion is huge, and he has gotten so very strong! He even wants to stand up on our legs already!! His Daddy is convinced that he will be a linebacker of some sort. 

Disposition: Brandt is a really happy guy. He loves to be talked to, and he loves to just hang out and watch his sisters play. He cries when he is hungry, sleepy, or wet. :) That's pretty much the normal baby thing to do! :) He has very distinct cries for each, and we pretty much know what is wrong with him by his cry, so that's really nice.

His sisters love him too much sometimes, but he loves, loves, loves them. He lights up when they talk to him! It's the sweetest thing. He absolutely recognizes their faces and their voices. :) He is doted on so much, especially by his Avaree. I just love this picture of them. :)

This boy loves his Daddy, and his Daddy loves him. It's been so sweet to watch their little relationship grow. And, oh, Brandt can stick out that lip--just like his big sister, Felicity! :)

We love this little buddy so very much. I cannot even imagine our lives without him. He's just our favorite little guy ever. What a gift he has been to our family!
